Remove all jewelry from your hands and wrists before thoroughly washing your hands with warm to hot water for 30 seconds.
Clean the finger that you'll be pricking with the supplied alcohol wipe for at least 15 seconds. This will help us get a clean sample and accurate results.
You'll want to prick the side (not the center or tip) of your finger pad, towards your pinky. Don't get too close to the nail or the blood will pool underneath and could lead to inaccurate results.
This is very important that you wipe away the first large drop of blood. We have found the cellular debris could lead to inaccurate results.
This step is especially helpful if you have poor circulation. Hold your hand downwards as you massage your finger with your other hand to get the blood flowing to the tip.
Gently squeeze you finger and allow the suction to do the work. Be sure to rest the pipette in the holder at an angle and completely fill the pipette (up to the white filter).
Carefully dispense the entire sample onto the collection pad.
Once the collection pad is filled, slide the cover securely over the sample. You'll know it's closed when you see the notches on the side of the device.
Slide the shipping sleeve at the end of the collection device.
