Early Beginnings
Olivia and (her now husband) Garrett first met as bright-eyed high schoolers. Working together as Target cashiers in 2004 the two were inseparable. And spoiler alert, this isn’t a story of a summer romance and later reconciliation. Olivia and Garrett had found each other, and the rest was history.
Despite attending different universities, the two continued their relationship and their love for each other, though seemingly impossible, only grew. They imagined and discussed their dreams, sketching out what could be their future together. On a beautiful day in 2011, shortly after Garrett completed his master’s program, he and Olivia walked down an aisle filled with family and friends and wed.

Pregnancy, Miscarriage, and Pandemic
In 2014, Garrett and Olivia welcomed their first baby boy to the world- Liam. While still in the womb, Liam struggled with a prenatal condition causing developmental delays called Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR). Additionally, Olivia’s placenta was no longer capable of nourishing him as he grew, affecting his weight gain.
But Liam is a fighter. Olivia would have him early at 38 weeks. And despite the joy he brought, due to his prenatal condition and a not so easy pregnancy journey, Olivia and Garrett would decide to wait to expand their family any further for a bit.
Five years later, they were ready and began trying for a baby. Unfortunately, they would experience the trauma of a miscarriage in October 2020, just five weeks into Olivia’s pregnancy. But in March 2022 in the midst of the pandemic, Olivia and Garrett found themselves pregnant again, nervous, and tentatively excited. As with many other pregnant women at the time, Olivia struggled with the loneliness and isolation caused by Covid-19.
Separated from friends and having to attend all prenatal appointments without the support of her husband due to safety protocols, this was not an exactly ideal experience. In November, in compliance with Covid precautions, Garrett dropped his wife off at the ER as the hospital sought to confirm Olivia was in labor. After what undoubtedly felt like the longest wait, Garrett was able to rush to Olivia’s side and welcome their rainbow baby and first daughter, Sofie.
Olivia x Juno
Hoping to expand their family even further, Olivia and Garrett tried and got pregnant in March 2022. Given Olivia’s advanced maternal age (+35 years old), she was considered high-risk. Throughout this pregnancy she would work closely with specialists to ensure the health of both her and her baby. And it was during this time that she learned about Juno Diagnostics, where she could complete an early at-home gender test. After missing so many prenatal appointments and moments with her husband during the pandemic, the opportunity to learn about her baby in the comfort and security of home hit a particular nerve. Shortly after taking the Juno Birch™ Fetal Gender Test, she and Garrett received their results- they were having a baby girl.
On November 29, 2022, Kylie was born at 9:32 P.M., weighing in at 6lbs. 3 oz. The Douglass family is currently enjoying their new bundle of joy.

“It was encouraging to have someone along the way supporting me throughout my pregnancy in addition to providing me with the Juno Birch™ Fetal Gender Test. Pregnancy is not easy, and it’s nice to have a company that supports pregnant moms in this way.” -Olivia
